River Jude Phoenix (Metolius, August 23, 1970 - Hollywood, October 31, 1993) was an American actor. On October 31, 1993, Phoenix had a drug overdose of heroin and cocaine (known as a speedball) outside the Viper Room nightclub in Hollywood where one of the partners was the actor Johnny Depp. Phoenix had returned to Los Angeles on the eve of going to Utah to complete the three weeks of your last (and incomplete) project Dark Blood. He was rushed to Cedars-Sinai Medical Center, accompanied by Flea, in an ambulance. Further attempts to resuscitate Phoenix (including the insertion of a pacemaker) were unsuccessful. He was pronounced dead at 1:51 am on October 31, 1993 The next day, the club became a sanctuary and thousands of fans left flowers, photos and candles on the sidewalk and messages on the walls of the place.
